I bought my 2011 Toyota FJ Cruiser in July of 2011 and have a lot of plans for it... Here's where you'll see the mods as they happen as well as I will be chronicling all my adventure on road and off. I'll also be discussing the Build-Up of the Axial SCX-10 FJ-40 Land Cruiser RC Scale Trail Rig.

I got the Tough Armor Competition Stinger Bumper today from RC4WD.com and decided to go ahead and see if the shortening of the frame was going to cause issues with mounting the bumper.

This is the intro to the build of my Axial SCX-10 build.  The plan is to create a scale looking Trail Rig and light Rock Crawler.

November 25, 2011 - I started with the Axial SCX-10 Dingo RTR 1:10 Scale Rock Crawler.  Still shiny at this point and for obvious reasons… un-driven…  :)

I think I’m becoming a lighting mod junkie on my 2011 Toyota FJ Cruiser.  First the Mirror Light Conversion to LEDs and then the Dome Light Conversion to LEDs.  I guess I’m hooked.  I’ve been wanting to do the HID conversion since I saw it done back in October on Cliff Cradier’s Blue Basher.  I’ve gotten pretty addicted to playing with electricity at the house and in the FJ Cruiser.  More on the house mods later!  Ok on with my review so far.

Removing Mirror Glass

You need to move the mirror so that the glass is pointing up. Then take a long flat head screwdriver and carefully pry the mirror off the mechanism that makes it move. The red arrow in the first picture shows where to stick the screwdriver in behind the mirror. In the second picture you can see how far up the screwdriver needs to go to pry on the back of the mirror. Make sure you go straight up behind the mirror not angled at all.

After wanting more growl I had a Flowmaster 40 and a Stainless Tip welded on my 2011 Toyota FJ Cruiser back in November.  I also added a K&N Drop In Filter at the same time.  Want to know what I think?
